We desire every person at Our Redeemer's to be a disciple of Jesus Christ; that is what He has called us to be. We want everyone attending our congregation to discover and live out their passion and calling as disciples. We desire everyone attending our church to have a place to learn and live out their passion and calling as children of God.
If you love to work with kids, play an instrument, show compassion to others, or whatever else you can think of, we have a place for you to live your faith!
At Our Redeemer's, believers are disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit. They live out their faith through God's grace and trust in Christ, emphasizing a life of joyful obedience and service to others.
Core Principles:
- Grace and Faith:
Salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned through good works.
- Following Christ:
Discipleship involves following Jesus' teachings and example, striving to live a life that reflects God's love and compassion.
- The Word of God:
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God and the only infallible source for all matters of faith and life. It guides believers in their faith and practice.
- Community:
Discipleship values the importance of community and fellowship with other believers, who support each other in their faith journeys.
- Service and Stewardship:
Discipleship involves using one's gifts and talents to serve others and to care for God's creation.
Key Aspects of Discipleship:
- Worship:
We engage in regular worship services, hearing God's Word, receiving the Sacraments, and praying together.
- Prayer:
Prayer is vital to communicating with God and seeking his guidance and strength.
- Bible Study:
Studying the Bible helps believers deepen their understanding of God's Word and apply it to their lives.
- Evangelism:
Sharing the Good News of Jesus with others is essential to discipleship.
- Stewardship:
We are called to be responsible stewards of God's gifts, using our resources and talents to serve God and others.
- Civic Engagement:
We are encouraged to be active and responsible citizens.
Examples of Discipleship in Action:
- Serving Others:
Christians are encouraged to serve their neighbors in need through volunteering, donating to charities, or simply being kind and compassionate.
- Sharing the Gospel:
We are encouraged to share our faith with others, inviting them to experience God's love and grace.
- Living a Life of Faith:
All Christians strive to live a life that reflects their faith in Jesus Christ, seeking to be holy and obedient to God's Word.
